Are you the DeBary Fire Department?
No. Fire and rescue service in DeBary is provided by the Orange City Fire Department under contract with the City. We are a volunteer association, founded in 1953 as DeBary’s first fire department, that now supports those firefighters and our residents.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 911. Our phone line and email are not monitored around the clock.
Are donations tax-deductible?
No. The Association is a 501(c)(4) organization; contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
Do you go door-to-door to collect money?
Never. If someone claims to be collecting for “firefighters” or “the new fire station” at your door, contact the DeBary office of the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
How can I donate?
Online through our Support page, via PayPal (paypal.me/dvfa), Venmo (@DeBary-VFA) or by mailing a check to PO Box 530853, DeBary, FL 32753-0853. We do not accept Zelle.
What is my donation used for?
Rehab supplies for Support 33 (water, sports drinks, snacks, ice) and equipment or supplies for the fire department that are outside its regular budget — including items for Fire Station 39.

When does the Association meet?
Our business meeting is on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm; drill night is every Wednesday at 7 pm at the Association Hall, 10 Colomba Road.
Can my group use the Association Hall?

Can you give a fire-safety talk to my school or HOA?
Yes. Request a free presentation on our Services page, ideally at least three weeks in advance.
How do I donate water, ice or snacks for Support 33?

Do you install smoke alarms?
We provide education on choosing, placing and testing smoke alarms. For an in-home alarm program, contact the City of DeBary or the American Red Cross. Try our smoke-alarm replacement calculator.
